A Year of Transitions

Can you believe it is 2014 already?  I hope that everyone has a fantastic year ahead and there are some sexy surprises in store for you.

I know that it’s Thursday and you’re expecting a new story from me.  Last year I was pretty consistent with publishing a new story each week here on my blog.  That means that there were close to twenty-three stories that came out here for my loyal readers.

Now in 2014, I’ve decided to make a few changes.  Perhaps you’ve seen some changes already.  I’m tweaking the design of my blog so that information is easier to see and there’s a lot less clutter.  I want to make this a better user experience for all my readers.

I’m going to be changing up the Other Authors tab as well.  This page was always supposed to be always in flux, letting me highlight new authors and good friends.  Right now it’s hasn’t changed since I’ve created it.  Make sure you check it out before it changes.  I’m excited by the new authors I’ll be showcasing there.

While I will be writing stories specifically for the blog, this will not be my focus for the first half of the year.  Right now I spend too much of my writing energies and time on these smaller stories.  I need to have more time to focus on my longer novellas and novels.  I’ve got three great ideas that I’m excited to work on, but having to write, edit, and format these blog posts means that I’m working on that rather than my books.

Why would I focus on my books?  Well that’s part of the changes as well.  I want to be more social and more out there with who I am.  Most people don’t realize that I’ve been trying to write full time for the past year.  It was an experiment, and while it has been a wonderful experience, it hasn’t really been a full time work supplement.  This realization was a hard one to make and part of the impetus for these changes.

While I’ll still be writing and adding to this blog, there will be more articles and useful information, rather than the strict focus on stories.  I really am excited about some of the things I’ve got planned, and I don’t want to give it all away right this second, but I’m hoping you find this interesting.

So what does this mean for you, my reader?  Well it means that I’m hoping that you can give me some helpful feedback as I shape this blog going forward.  Like something?  Let me know.  Find something annoying or useless?  Please, share your thoughts with me in a respectable way.  I’ll be glad to take all comments into account as the blog transforms in the month ahead.

Thank you so much of your loyalty the past year.  I can’t believe how many fans I’ve made in such a short time.

Now, if you've been coming to this site for a while, you're probably expecting a new story.  Well this week I've been to busy to finish the story I've been working on for you. So instead I'm going to return the favor of sharing with you some amazing author's blogs.  Each of the links that I post will connect you to a series of stories, with one of mine on the page.  It's a great way for you to check out some new authors who you might also enjoy.

Nicole Ryan is an amazing lady.  She's a great help to the indie writing community and recently had me on her blog twice.  The first was in her Bearded Man submissions.  These were male authors writing about Fall/Winter and Beards in 600 words or less!  Tough challenge, but she had some great stories come out of it.  Check it out here.

A Good End to the Day

I imagine you coming home tonight, surprised how all your snow chores are done. You walk into the house and it's warm, there's a light in the kitchen, and you enter, curious about what you'll find. As you make it to the doorway I turn around and smile. I've been hard at work at the stove, cooking dinner for us. You can tell that a soup is bubbling away, perfect for this cold winter night.

As you step into the room, I lower the heat to a simmer and then walk over to you. We hug and kiss lightly before you drop your bags and books that are weighing you down. Red, White, and You

This post is a little different then my normal posts, as it happens to come out on an American holiday.  Today is Independence Day here in the states and I'd like to wish all of my American readers a Happy Fourth of July.  For those international readers, I do hope you're having a great day on this 4th of July as well.  Either way, everyone should celebrate Indie-pendence day by supporting an Indie artist. The morning seems to be going along perfectly.  It is the Fourth of July, and since you have the day off you are able to sleep in a bit longer than usual.  It is so nice to wake up on a Thursday and have the time to relax and just be.

You head into the shower and wash off the dirt and sweat from the previous day before reaching for your shaving cream.  You spray a bit of the slick foam into your palm and run them up and down your leg, making sure there was a nice thick lather.  You rinse your hand off in the water until you are confident that you've got your grip back.  Then you reach for your new razor and uncap it.  Gently you draw it up and over your skin, watching as it follows your contours perfectly.  You think to yourself that this really is quite an erotic act.

Lunch Hour Quickie

You are at your desk, about to head to lunch, when your cell phone vibrates.  Your hand leaves the mouse and slips over to the phone.  You flip it over and see that there’s a new text message from me.  “Meet me down stairs in 5 mins.”

As you look up from your phone, you realize immediately that you’re a bit flushed and your blood is pumping.  You hesitate for a moment, trying to find the right words to elicit a similar response in me, but give up.  “Yes, Sir.”

Reflections on the First Month

Happy One Month Anniversary!

Yes, my blog is one month old.  It's been a great first month, and while not being one hundred percent consistent, I've been trying and I've been learning.  I feel the blog has a long way to go, and I'm just starting to get a feel for how to make that happen.  There should be a few new stories up in the coming weeks before I take a little break because of personal reasons.  After that I'm going to have more consistent output that you'll be able to count on.

Some blogs have themed days, and maybe that's a route I will take.  Any of my readers have any suggestions?  Any bloggers have any tips that I should try?  I'd love to improve this site and I'm always happy to hear some constructive criticism.

So that's it, just a short post celebrating my first month at this.  I can't believe how many views I've had and I'm excited at what the future holds.  Thanks everybody!
