Blog Hop Interview - Tag You're It

First off, I have to thank Felicity Brandon (also http://fbrandonfiction.wix.com/) for the opportunity to take part in this blog hop.  Last week she had a great post on her blog where she answered these same questions, and I urge you to check out her blog and her works.  So thanks a lot Felicity for thinking of me when looking for more authors.

When you’re done checking out her blog, check out the links to the other authors in this Blog Hop.  It’s been going on for a few weeks and hopefully on Monday, September 23, 2013 the authors I tag at the bottom of this post will also take part.

1. What are you working on right now?

Right now I’m working on a few projects.  The first of which is “Playful Punishments” which is a collection of a few spanking stories from this blog.  Nothing new, but they are all freshly edited and collected together for 99 cents.

I’m also working on Part 2 of Jessie’s Erotic Awakening series.  You might remember that the first chapter was Sin City Stripping, my first book.  This next chapter in Jessie’s story is actually an anthology, 3-4 stories and I’m busy working on the third of these stories.  When that’s done I’ll see if it’s ready or if it’s really dying for one last story to tie it all together.  It’s setting up a bigger adventure for Jessie’s next outing, as well as introducing a new character or two.  It's fun, and fans of the first book should be pleased and surprised.

Besides all of that, I’m also working on stories for my blog and a few of my author friend’s blogs.  So much up in the air that it’s hard to keep focused, but I manage.

2. How does it differ from other works in its genre?

Well with the Jessie’s Erotic Awakening 2 (sorry I don’t have a working title for the anthology yet), it is another mixture of first person action, putting you in Jessie’s shoes, well if she’s wearing any.  I’m trying to have all of these characters seem real, and built a world that you’d want to inhabit.  I like to try to put my readers into one of the character, let them imagine the actions happening to them, as if they were there.  So far, the plot of the first two stories is related, but yet different from the events in Sin City Stripping, however I believe that fans of the first book will not be disappointed.

3. Why do you write what you do?

Well I've written many different types of stories in the past, in a few different genres.  I've been writing since High School, and while I took a few years off after college, the love for the written word has always been there.  So why have I chosen erotica?  I believe that it’s a uniquely positioned subject that has a way of captivating readers physically not just emotionally.  While some authors write very touching stories, I try to make stories that touch the reader, make them feel the physical sensations of the action.  It’s part of the reason why a large number of my stories are written with the reader as subject.

That being said, don’t be surprised if my stories take a turn in the future.  No they will always be highly erotic, but I want to explore some sub-genres.  I like to try out new things so maybe there will be sci-fi erotica, or fantasy-erotica, maybe even paranormal-erotica.  It has been a fun challenge to dabble in different fetishes, like spanking and interracial, and I've been happy with the reactions to these experiments thus far.

4. How does your writing process work?

Typically I work on a story once I've had a spark in my mind.  What causes that spark is elusive and mysterious.  It might be a song, a photo, a comment, a word, or someone else’s story contest scenario.  From there I find some music, something ambient, or electronica/techno/trance, classical/score or something else without words and try to hammer out the story.  After I write the first draft I go over it and edit it, which often involves as much rewriting as it does editing.  Finally I go over it again to catch the typos and such.  If it’s for my blog, typically I’ll just post it, often I’m trying to get things done under the pressure of a 9 am Thursday deadline.  If it’s an eBook, I’ll give it to an editor who will go over the work and we’ll make it ready for the reading public.

Thanks again Felicity!  And now the authors I’m tagging…

Hope you three have as a good time with this as I did!
